Create an assignment

You can assign selected documents to a reviewer. In the assignment, you can choose to include family documents. Doing so adds all family documents, including any family documents that did not appear in the search.

Family documents also affect the batch size you supply. When you include family documents, for affected batches, the batch size automatically increases to accommodate the additional related documents. If you do not include family documents, the batch includes the exact number of documents in the batch size, which orphans family documents that exceed the batch size.

In projects created in Epiq Discovery 3.8 or higher, when creating an assignment, you need to select a coding form and a reviewed field. When reviewing, a Reviewer or a Senior Reviewer needs to code this field in order for the batch and its assignment to reflect review progress.
Important: Access to documents granted via assignments supersedes any securable folder actions.
